Helping People Navigate Land Use, HOA, & Property Laws

Image shows Anna Trentadue wearing a blue ball cap, braids, sunglasses, and a pink life vest. She's smiling and on a large river with trees on the bank.

I’ll be your advocate.

I’m an Idaho native, and I credit my ten years of experience guiding on rivers throughout Idaho, Utah, California, Oregon, and West Virginia as the cornerstone of my interest in resource management.

Land use and zoning matter to me. People matter, too. I know the law can seem unapproachable and overwhelming. When I opened my private practice, I committed to clear client communication, efficiency, honesty, and tactical patience. I love working directly with land and business owners.

  • Education

After studying ecology in Nunavut and Nepal, I earned my B.A. in biology, with a French minor, from the Colorado College in 2000.

For several years after college, I worked in plant genetics and diabetes research for the UC Berkeley Plant Gene Expression Center and U.C. San Francisco School of Medicine.

I then retired my petri dishes and went to law school, earning my Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco in 2006.

During law school, I received the Dean's Award, and the Zeif and John C. Scully Memorial scholarships.

  • Experience

I am a dedicated and experienced attorney with over 20 years of expertise in the fast-paced world of western land use, development, and conservation law.

During my studies at the University of San Francisco, I specialized in land use and water law, interned with the California Attorney General's Energy Task Force, and worked as a paralegal at a private water law practice.

Upon graduation from law school, I returned to Idaho to work for a small private water law practice in Boise.

In 2007, I became the staff attorney at Valley Advocates for Responsible Development (VARD) in Driggs.

  • Success

In the 17 years that I represented Valley Advocates for Responsible Development (VARD), this modest 501(C)(3) organization transformed into a regionally recognized conservation advocacy powerhouse that often achieved big legal victories on a shoestring budget.

The keys to success were: (1) cultivating deep community relationships with diverse stakeholders, (2) possession of in-depth historical knowledge, (3) doggedly earning a solid professional reputation with agencies and decision makers, and (4) developing both an opportunistic and defensive understanding of all relevant statutes, codes, and policies.

  • Personal

I reside in Driggs, Idaho, with my family, which is the light and joy of my life.

I enjoy biking, skiing, running rivers, cheering for my kids at sports events, and naming our pets after Idaho towns. I currently have a cat named "Riggins."

FUN FACT: My last name, "Trentadue," means 32 in Italian.

Courtroom with two lawyers, each wearing a mask for covid. One is a woman wearing a yellow sweater and the other is a bald man wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a tie. Behind them are brown benches and ceiling lights shine down on them.

Spending time inside the courtroom during Covid.

The number 32 in tan color. It represents the name Trentadue, which means 32 in Italian.
Mountains are in the background, and wildflowers cover the hillsides. A woman on a mountain bike rides on a trail under a blue sky with a few clouds.

How I like to spend my time outside of the courtroom.
